Bohr Electronics, an Alderman Enterprises company, today announced the acquisition of assets from Central Railway MFG (CRM), a manufacturer based in Jacksonville, Fl., specializing in custom onboard equipment and software for the rail industry. CRM will now be known as CRM, a Bohr Electronics Company.
The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
As part of the acquisition, CRM’s intellectual property and engineering staff will become part of the Bohr Electronics team at its corporate headquarters and production facility in Chattanooga.
Stephen Smith, founder and president of CRM, will be a consultant during the transition.
Bohr Electronics will incorporate CRM's portfolio of manufactured products, including event recorders, energy management systems, networking solutions, and crew safety technologies.
By combining Bohr’s repair expertise with these advanced technologies, Bohr and CRM can better meet the specific needs of railroads. This integration is expected to offer more value and quicker turnaround times compared to other market players, highlighting the strategic significance of this acquisition.
Bohr Electronics has a substantial history in repair and return, remanufacturing outright, and engineering solutions for modern locomotives and legacy systems. It manufactures its brand of testing equipment, cables and harnesses.
