Lennetta Eason
Lennetta Eason was born on June 6, 1949, to the late Hattie Belle Rawlings and David Eason. She transitioned from this life to eternity on March 28, 2024.
Lennetta was an employee of the State of Tennessee (MBMHI) for 37 years until her retirement.
At an early age in North Chattanooga, Lennetta repented of her sins, was baptized in Jesus' name and received God as her Lord and Savior. While with her prayer group, The Chain, she was known primarily for her mellifluous and rich vocals. Many were touched and converted due to her singing ministry. Later, she joined and was an active member of the Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Church, Chattanooga, TN. She served in whatever capacity she was called on to do i.e. Lennetta served on the Usher Board, women's ministry, kitchen, and intercessor team. Lennetta was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Lennettawas a selfless and giving person and loved being a help to those in need. Although Lennetta was the youngest of the three sisters, she was very overprotective of her siblings. She was quick-witted and could make you laugh with her outlandish commentary.
Lennetta leaves behind her children and caretakers, Shawn Eason, Carman Eason-Ward (Chris), grandchildren MiShannon (Saeed) Abazid, Briaunna Maddox, Shawn Eason Jr. and three great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters: Doris (Anthony) Waite, Eyvonne Crutcher, best friend Curtis Blocker, host of nieces and nephews and three special people dear to her heart, Marcia Thompson, Roxanne Edwards and Flora Kimball. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hattie Belle Rawlings, grandmother, Susie Pitts, nephew Warren Crutcher, and son in the Lord, the late Charles Calloway.
She will be missed but we have the consolation that she is at peace and is resting in the arms of the Lord. She worshipped the Lord until her transition and would always have solace that she lived a Holy life until God called her home. To God be the Glory.
Public viewing will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, followed immediately at 11 a.m., with a funeral service at Greater Emmanuel Apostolic Church, 400 Tunnel Blvd., Chattanooga.
Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
