Rickeeta Shante’ Rowland, 36, of Chattanooga, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, in a local hospital.

She was born April 22, 1987, to Ronald Mitchell and Cynthia Rowland. Rickeeta was full of love and wisdom, accepting Christ at a young age. She attended Brainerd High School where she was a Dancing Diamond. She graduated with the class of 2005. Rickeeta was furthering her education at Chattanooga State Community College in the Nursing Program until she became ill. She was a member of Brainerd First COG. Rickeeta was a member of the Ladies of Endurance #874. Through all her trials and tribulations, Rickeeta stayed strong. No matter what she endured, she always had time to talk and counsel others. She was the eldest granddaughter and acted like it. She was so fierce, feisty, and loved fashion. She loved her family so much and never met a stranger. Kaden, her son, was the love of her life.

Rickeeta was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Alex Rowland and Gary Mitchell, Sr.; great-grandparents, Bishop and Emma Lou Rowland, Rusha Bell (William) Lansden, and Willie Billingsley, Sr.

Survivors include her son, Kaden Farnum; mother, Cynthia and Larry Lattimore; father, Ronald Mitchell; brother, Arsenial (Asha) Rowland; stepsisters, Sasha Moore, Tawana (Isaac) Wiley, and Challis Lattimore; grandmothers, Brenda Miles and Carolyn Mitchell; uncles, Terry, Rodney, Alex Billingsley, Bukari (Tamara) Miles of Liberty, OH, Ronald Harris, Vincent (Senita) Dixon, Anthony (DeSharla) Rowland, Alex (LA) Rowland, Alex Rowland of Denver, CO, Carlon Baker, and Gary Mitchell; aunts, (special aunt) Sharim Peterkin, LaToria Rowland, Karen, Tonya, Kera Mitchell, Lisa (Gerald) Bonner of Nashville, TN, and Jennifer (Willis) Newby of Atlanta, GA; a host of great-uncles; great-aunts; special cousins, Sha’Rhonda, JhaKeeta, Aliah, De’Jha, EsManda, and many other cousins; best friends, Quatisha, Gweniqua, special friend, Cornelius Farnum; and a host of other friends.

Rickeeta will lie in state on Tuesday, April 9, at 9 a.m. at Mt. Canaan Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kelvin Russell, Jr. as the eulogist.

Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
