Bryson, Joy Kay (Cohutta)

Mrs. Joy Kay Bryson, 69, of Cohutta, Georgia, departed this life on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Memorial Hospital.

She was born on Aug. 10, 1954, in Harriman, Tn., a daughter of the late Stiles and Mary Joyce Schubert Raymond. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Samuel Edward Raymond, Steven Douglas Raymond, granddaughter Willow Bryson.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Terry Lee Bryson of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan Shane and Mona Lisa Stanley of Ringgold, Jonathan Blake and Britney Nicholle Bryson of Varnell, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Darlene Raymond of Rockwood, Tn.; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Bobby Swaney of Maryville, Tn.; grandchildren, Bryan Christian Stanley, Eugenia Michelle Ledford, Tiffany Nichole Blair, Rodney Deen Miller, Brayden Groves; great grandchildren, Skyler, Chase, Landon, Bella, Shy, Rodney, Addie; nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Joy Kay Bryson will be held on Saturday, July 13, at 3 p.m. at the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Terry Bryson, Reverend George Gray and Reverend Gladden Coe officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to House of Prayer Baptist Church Building Fund 14774 East Highway 136, Lafayette, Ga. 30718.
