Edward Lee Frye, Sr.
Edward Lee Frye, Sr., 76, died on July 3, 2024.
He was born in Atlanta on Feb. 6, 1948, to the late Marcus Frye and Marie Fowler, but had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith, having been saved at a tent revival in Rossville.
Mr. Frye served in the Army from 1968-1973 with two tours of Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. A longtime Mueller Company employee, Edward “Mr. Clean” Frye retired in 2009.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Jeanette Lawson Frye, sister, Beverly Scott of Roswell, Ga., three brothers, Walter Frye of Canton, Ga., Terry Frye of Duluth, Ga., and Robert Frye of Canton, Ga.
Survivors include his son, Dr. Eddie (Debbie) Frye, of Lafayette, Ga.; daughter, Lisa (Keith) Finch, of Rossville; one brother, Andy Fowler of McDonald, Tn.; three sisters, Cindy Lewis of Canton, Ga., Barbara Fountain of Canton, Ga., and Betty Whitley of Cummings, Ga.; four grandchildren, Evan (Kati) Dodd, Kelli Frye, Skyler (Alex) Bragg and Edward Lee Frye III; his little buddy, Dustin, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday July 8, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Marshall Kellett and the Dr. Eddie Frye officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will begin receiving friends from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, and Sunday, July 7, and prior to the service on Monday July 8, at the funeral home.
