Barbara Ann Robinson, 80, also lovingly known as "Marion" , passed away on July 2, 2024, in Chattanooga Tennessee. She was born on June 13, 1944.

Marion was a cornerstone of warmth and generosity in her community. She was often referred to as the “neighborhood granny”. She dedicated 15 years of her life to Chambliss Children's Home where she combined her passion for cooking and her desire to care for others. Marion's home was a welcoming place, one where she loved to cook for anyone in need of a comforting meal.

Marion's educational journey began at Joseph E. Smith Primary School and continued through Booker T. Washington High School, where she was grounded in the values of hard work and community service.

Her interests included spending time with family and friends, sitting on her porch sipping Cokes, and enjoying the blues, which brought her great joy and relaxation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Lee Smith; her husband, James Armour; sisters, Betty Diane Walton, Willie Mae Holland, Tawanna Smith, and Yolanda Smith; brother, William Butch Smith Jr.; her son, James Armour Jr.; grandson, CorDarrius Armour; nephews, Ronnie and Andre Smith; in-laws, Jo Ann Hopkins, Doris Smith, Harold Armour, Stephen Walker, and Albert Rowell.

She is survived by a large and loving family, including her daughter, Talishyon Armour; sons, Anthony and Darrell Armour Sr.; sisters, Mary Smith, Vickie Newby, and Felicia (George) Williamson; grandchildren: Shayla Armour, Exzavier Armour, LaShonda Thomas, James Armour III, Tamakia Williams, Darrell Armour Jr., Belinda Armour, London Armour, JuAsia Williams, Danmega Williams Jr., Omega Williams, Trakia Armour, TaNesha Armour, Jasmine Armour, Ti Calvius Armour, Lexi Armour, LaKey Armour; 32 great-grandchildren; dedicated niece, Belinda Smith; dedicated nephews, Dexter Smith and William (Pooh) Smith III; sister-in-law, Vivian Holland of Kennesaw, GA; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; goddaughter, Tameka Wooden Havis; devoted friends, Brenda Hicks, Minnie Ruth, Gerald Johnson, Big Red and Robert Stamper.

Marion's life and legacy will be honored and remembered by all who knew her, as she made a lasting impact through her kindness, culinary skills, and joyful spirit.

Public viewing will be held 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at the funeral home. A funeral service will begin at noon Thursday, July 11 at John P. Franklin Funeral Home. Interment : Highland Memorial Gardens.
