Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Michael H. Ezell, passed away at home on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at the age of 70.

Michael was born in Fairhope, Al., on Nov. 15, 1953, to James and Eleanor Ezell. He graduated from Fairhope High School in 1972 and received his associates in Accounting from 20th Century College. Afterwards, he worked for Gulf Shores Police Department as a communications officer.

Following his mother’s death, Michael moved to Chattanooga to pursue a degree in Business Administration from Tennessee Temple University where he also worked for a number of years. While a student at Tennessee Temple, he married his lovely wife, Nancy Ezell (née Sinders) on Sept. 29, 1991. He later completed his Master of Ministry at Temple Baptist Seminary.

Michael later worked at Groome Transportation, retiring in 2015. While in retirement, he worked for Center for Sports Medicine as a courier for a while until his health began to decline. He served as the president of The Chattanooga Stamp Club for a few years, actively participating in club affairs, and was an active member of Berean Baptist Church until his stroke in 2020.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, Janet, step-brothers, Chuck and Matt Eddins, and mother-in-law, Anna Sinders.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, son, Logan (Mia), grandchildren; Elijah, Carly, and Marianna Ezell of Dayton, step-mother, Maxine Ezell of Spanish Fort, Alabama, father-in-law, Estel Sinders of Clay City, In., step brother, Barry (Jessica) of Spanish Fort, sister-in-law, Sandi Eddins of Theodore, Al., sister-in-law, Diana Sinders of Pendleton, In., and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Brother Robert Hurd and Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
