Betty Dolores Alford White
Betty Dolores Alford White celebrated 96 years of a well-lived life here on earth before beginning her heavenly everlasting journey on August 31, 2024.
She is now reunited with her husband, Floyd “Pete” White, along with her mother, Alyce Smith Alford; father, William F. Alford, Jr.; and her brothers, Bill, Nick, and David Alford.
Those forever blessed by her and missing her include her daughters, Brenda Davis; Darlene White; and Kay (Mark) Whittenburg; and her last born, as well as number one son Michael (Beth) White. The grandchildren she loved and left a legacy in include Wendy (Russell Dill) and Mitch (Sabrina) Davis; Sarah White-Woerner and Holly (David) Henry; Daniel (Brittany) Whittenburg, Lexie (Chris) Moon, and Remington Whittenburg (Olivia Ross); and Gus (Caitlin) and Jack White. She also took great joy in her nine great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and many nieces and nephews.
Betty was fiercely independent and always ready to take on whatever came at her. She used the challenges she faced to become stronger and was so grateful for her blessings. She loved crocheting, was an expert seamstress, enjoyed sitting in the warm sun, and spent countless hours in her kitchen, which was the heart of her home. She was a true caretaker, who willingly gave her time and energy for her family, friends, and others in need, putting them first and herself last. Each morning, during the day, and at night, she thanked God for his help and for watching over those she loved.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which held a special place in her heart, or Hearth Hospice of Chattanooga, which provided high quality and compassionate care and comforting support.
Arrangements are entrusted to Covenant Funeral & Crematory, with a private family service to be held later.
