Zoe and Cloyd
The WoodSongs Dalton Concert Series will feature North Carolina based band Zoe and Cloyd on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. The family-friendly live music will take place in at the First Presbyterian Church in the heart of historic Dalton.
Review for Zoe and Cloyd:
The music of the Zoe and Cloyd Trio is an amalgam of traditional Appalachian music, bluegrass, jazz, and a little klezmer thrown in for good measure. Natalya "Zoe" Weinstein is a classically trained violinist who comes from a long line of jazz and klezmer musicians. John "Cloyd" Miller a twelfth generation North Carolinian, is the grandson of the legendary bluegrass fiddler Jim Shumate. John is an award winning songwriter, placing first in both the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Contest and the Hazel Dickens Songwriting Competition.
The concert will benefit the DEO Clinic. Now in its 20th year, the non-profit medical clinic has provided thousands of office visits to the under-served members of the greater Dalton community. DEO receives no state or federal government monetary support and depends on grants and the generosity of local donors and businesses. Contributions from each concert will be matched up to $2,500 by Modern Woodmen of America.
The concert will take place at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 S. Selvidge St. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and the doors open 6:30 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 and at the door $24. Advance tickets are available at Bigham Discount Music, The Dalton Freight Depot Gift Shop, and online at http://woodsongsdalton.com/
