It’s Match Week No. 2 in the Southern Conference schedule. The Chattanooga Mocs host the VMI Keydets while taking the show on the road. The Mocs are head to Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Tenn., looking to jumpstart the 2025 portion of the season’s ledger.
The Mocs dropped a heartbreaker Sunday in a 19-16 loss to Campbell. It was a slugfest with the two squads swapping the lead four times. Chattanooga led 16-10 after Kamdyn Munro’s major decision at 184. The Camels got a tech fall at 197 to close the lead to 16-15 before getting the clinching win at heavyweight.
Dayne Dalrymple had the signature win of the day.
There were six ranked wrestlers between the two schools with five claiming wins. The lone loss was Dalrymple controlling No. 31 Wynton Denkins earning a 4-1 decision. It was the first ranked victory for the Memphis native.
Chattanooga holds a 34-6 series lead over the Keydets. It’s won 21 matches in row and is 2-0 at neutral sites.
