Nasir Oshea Petty
Nasir Oshea Petty, affectionately known as “Sir”, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, in a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee at the fun-loving age of 9 years old.
Born Monday, July 27, 2015, Nasir was a 4th grader at Harrison Elementary School, home of the Panthers and starting offensive center for the River City Bills 8U football team, #blueside. When he wasn’t pounding out math worksheets in Mr. Burns’ class or protecting the quarterback in his stylish red, black, and white Air Jordan 1 football cleats; he would chill at home playing video games on his Playstation, hanging with his dog-bro Miles, or making content videos for his Tik Tok channel.
Sir will be remembered for his love of Spiderman, naming his German-Rottweiler, Miles, after Spiderman-Miles Morales; a seafood boil at Pappadeaux’s, piping hot pizza, and a Nathan’s hotdog; plain or fully loaded. We will miss his hugs filled with love, contagious laughter, and silly antics.
Sir is survived by his loving parents, Nakion “Dad” Lebron, Petty, Sr. and Lynnitra “Mama” Nicole Dunton; brothers, Nakion “Kion” Jr. and Robert “Tre”; sister Camisha “Misha”; grandmother, Patricia “Granny” Dunton; grandfathers, Theodore Wright and Jeffrey Dunton; twin nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, teammates, classmates, and friends.
Nasir will lie-in-state on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel; to honor and celebrate a charming, caring, adventurous, inquisitive, and loving angel on Earth. Pastor Ronnie Bullard will be the Eulogist. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
