Karen Thurman Davies, 64, of Chattanooga, went home to be with her Savior on January 8, 2025.

Karen was the daughter of James and Frances Thurman and the sister of Jim Thurman. She graduated from Red Bank High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Thurman; mother, Frances Thurman; and brother, Jim Thurman.

Karen is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Walter G. Davies III; her daughters, Laura Davies Maley (Jonathan) and Mary Davies Hutton (Clark); and her beloved grandson, Clark Davies Hutton.

Karen will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and devoted grandmother. She touched the hearts of everyone who knew her, leaving an indelible mark with her kindness and care. Her presence brought out the best in those around her. Though deeply missed, she is now at peace and free from pain.

A visitation will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Chattanooga on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. with a funeral Mass to follow at 12 p.m. A celebration of Karen’s life will take place afterward at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Catholic Church or Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue.
