Let Congress Know - And Response

  • Wednesday, February 12, 2025

Sen Andy Kim, D-NJ, says he’s “open to shutting down the government if Trump continues dismantling agencies” (NBC 2/9/25). Last year, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-NY, said “Republicans were ‘ordered’ to shut down the government hurting the working-class they pretend to help"(12/19/24). If shutting down the government hurts people, are Democrats ready to hurt people they now pretend to want to help?

So why would they shut down the government? Is it because Trump is reducing their bloated bureaucracy? Do they want to stop an audit of these federal agencies, an audit like private business does every year? Their “unelected” line isn’t working either. All agencies have enacted regulations for decades and none of them were elected. Neither are Congressional staff who draft legislation.

Absent any real policies or alternatives, some Democrats in Congress are taking to the streets of DC swearing and cursing. Today they were joined by federal employees howling and warbling in an out-of-tune silly song. So we need to be heard too. Let Congress know we want to keep our “taxpayer affirming care” that Musk and Trump are providing.

Isn't it ironic that Mr. Miller never complained about Republicans threatening to shut down the federal government?
