Creole Restaurant Planned At Former St. John's Restaurant

  • Friday, February 28, 2025

A creole restaurant is planned at the former site of the upscale St. John's Resaurant.

Thomas Johnson, owner of the historic building at the corner of King Street and South Market, said the new eatery will be Hendo's Creole Restaurant.

The lease is with former Los Angeles Ram running back Darrel Henderson, who played college football at Memphis.

Mr. Johnson said Mr. Henderson formerly operated a restaurant in L.A.

The St. John's moved to the former Mountain City Club after a long and successful run on the Southside.
