Emma Cox-Jones, 67, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on February 3, 2025, at her residence.

Born on March 3, 1957, in Chattanooga to James and Velma Craig, Emma was a proud graduate of Riverside High School, Class of 1975.

Emma dedicated many years of service as an assistant manager at Catherine’s. She was an active member of the Elks and Eastern Star and a devoted member of New Vernon Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Emma leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her son, Ryan Cox; daughter, Keyota Cox; daughter-in-law, La’Shanta’ Cox; and her beloved grandchildren: TeAysha Marie Cox, Markeys DeJames Cox, Joshua E’Sean Cox, Kamilah Shareece Cox, Germaine Vestell Favors III, Jeremiah E’Sean Cox, Jamil Ryan Cox, and Ciara Yvonne Cox.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. at New Vernon Grove Baptist Church, 20 W 26th Street, Chattanooga.

Emma’s kindness, strength, and unwavering faith will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
