Katherine “Kathy” A. Reed, 74, of Rossville, GA, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 12, 2025. She was a kind and loving mother, sister, daughter, and friend who loved with her whole heart.

To all who knew her, she was always up for a cup of coffee and all in for a cat rescue. Her smile and infectious laugh were shared with everyone who met her since she never met a stranger or shied away from an opportunity to know a person, even if was for only a few minutes. She loved playing bingo, going to church, but most of all she enjoyed the little ones and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

To those that were fortunate enough to have her in their lives, she will be remembered for her kindheartedness, heart of gold, boundless love and encouragement, and the stories she could tell. She might have been small, but there was no one fiercer you could have in your corner to believe in you, love you, and always let you know how proud she was of your accomplishments, or pick you up when a learning opportunity came along in life. She believed in God, heaven and all our purposes in life and wasn’t shy about reminding you how everything is connected.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggie Anne Clarke and her brother, Jack E. Ashton.

Survivors include her daughters, Tricia (Jeff) Kenney, Tamatha (Caleb) Womack, and Tracy (Tamara) Reed; grandchildren, Jeremy (Kindred) Kenney, Jacob Kenney, Gabriel Womack, and Kaitlin Womack; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Aria, and Cirilla; her sister, Patricia Cash; and her nephews, Matthew, and Joshua Cash.

The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, March 27, at the TN-GA Memorial Park pavilion, with a memorial service immediately following from 3-4 p.m. A private burial of ashes will follow the service.

Condolences may be sent to www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to a local animal rescue of your choice.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
