Betty Carah Hamilton
Betty Carah Hamilton, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Monday March 24, 2025.
She was born in Arab, Al., on Feb. 5, 1931, to the late James and Beulah Reeves. She spent most of her entire adult life working in the automotive financing industry. She retired from Chrysler Credit after 30 years of service. Betty was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church in Chattanooga for over 85 years.
Betty enjoyed spending time in the kitchen. She always enjoyed spending time with family and friends during the holidays and birthdays. In her earlier years she enjoyed the family camping trips to Lake Tansi in Crossville. Betty also enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time at the beach and shopping. Betty and her cousin, Emily would often take senior trips with Silverdale Baptist to various locations.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Bishop Luke Hamilton, her parents, and her two brothers, Neil and Max Reeves.
Left behind to cherish Betty’s memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Carrie Hamilton.
A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held graveside at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 28, with Pastor Tom Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 27, from 4-7 p.m.
