Edgar “Eddie” Alfred Tumblin III
Sgt. Edgar “Eddie” Alfred Tumblin III, 39, passed away on February 24, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio.
Eddie was a member of the North Hamilton Church of Christ. He graduated with an associate’s degree in criminal justice. He was a corrections officer for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and a sergeant in the Tennessee National Guard, serving his county with honor.
Eddie is preceded in death by his mother, Patrice Bivens and his grandfather, Edgar Alfred Tumblin, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Rebecca Tumblin, father and stepmother, Al (Trina) Tumblin, siblings, Angel J. Nixon, Jwan Tumblin, Tabian Tumblin and Madison Tumblin, in-laws, Gail and Willard Elsea, brother-in-law, Joshua (Kelly) Elsea and sister-in-law, Erica (Joe) Anderson.
Eddie is also survived by a special niece, Saralyn Elsea, nieces, Lily, Ivy and September, several aunts, uncles and cousins: his dog and running buddy, Daisy Mae, coworkers from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and his fellow soldiers in the Army National Guard.

Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at the North Hamilton Church of Christ, 8310 Dayton Pike, Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37379.
Services will be from 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at the North Hamilton Church of Christ with his brother-in-law, Josh Elsea and Minister David Smith officiating.
His body will lie in state at the church from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
