The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team shot its best round of the Southern Conference Championships but could not complete the comeback finishing second. The ladies tallied 298 Wednesday for a total of 907.
Violeta Fernandez-Tagle led the group with level-par 72. Giulia Foresta was a stroke behind at 73 followed by Makenzie Cooper with 74. Kera Healey completed the score with 79.
Furman claimed the title shooting 898 for the three days. Mercer (918) was a distant third followed by UNCG (921), ETSU (928), Samford (943), Western Carolina (943), Wofford (944) and The Citadel (1071).
