  • Wednesday, April 16, 2025

The Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team shot its best round of the Southern Conference Championships but could not complete the comeback finishing second. The ladies tallied 298 Wednesday for a total of 907.

Violeta Fernandez-Tagle led the group with level-par 72. Giulia Foresta was a stroke behind at 73 followed by Makenzie Cooper with 74. Kera Healey completed the score with 79.

Furman claimed the title shooting 898 for the three days. Mercer (918) was a distant third followed by UNCG (921), ETSU (928), Samford (943), Western Carolina (943), Wofford (944) and The Citadel (1071).

" We kind of gave it away on the first day with our start. We gave it our best try, but it's hard to do. They fought, but we gotta get better at making pars. Not even making birdies, just making pars when you gotta get up and down." – Coach Colette Murray on this week’s play as a whole
