Today, we celebrate the life of Otis Daniel White, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Otis started his earthly journey on December 19, 1936, to Arch and Anna Bell White in Pine Mountain, Ga., formerly known as Chipley, Ga. He was the last surviving sibling of 14. On March 22, 2025, the Lord called him to his heavenly home. He was preceded in death by both parents, Arch and Anna Bell Babbs White; seven brothers, Robert, James, Curtis, Arch Jr., Eulas, Charlie, and John; six sisters, Blanche, Mary, Ernestine, Lillian, Karrie, and Lotus.

He was a faithful member of Orchard Knob Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed fellowshipping with his Christian brothers and sisters. He dedicated 40 years of his life to US Pipe, retiring as a forklift operator. Otis also worked various other jobs to provide the best for his loving family.

Throughout this earthly journey, his first priority was to God, then his family, and finally cars. He enjoyed reading Psalm 23 because he did not hesitate for it to be known he was under the care of the Good Shephard. As a child, he was captivated by all types of cars and this continued throughout his adult life. He would often visit dealerships to look at the new lineup and tagging along would be his only daughter, Gwen. The Cadillac was his passion automobile...any make or model. He also visited car shows to view the latest or the greatest in the showing.

Otis was known as the family historian which he did extremely well. Any questions about family history, he was definitely the one to call.

He is survived by a loving and devoted wife, Ruth Cameron White; loving daughter, Gwendolyn White Giedd of San Diego, Ca.; four grandchildren, Alexandra “Sasha” Giedd (Benjamin Stone) of Charlotte, NC, Jordan Giedd of Nashville, Tn., Bryce Giedd and Jacob Giedd of San Diego, Ca.; a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public viewing will begin at 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at noon, on Monday, April 7, at Orchard Knob Baptist Church, 1734 East Third Street.

Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, 423 622-9995.
