Retired From DuPont After 45 Years

James Loyd Sanders, 94, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025.

He was born in Seco, Ky., and was a 1950 graduate of Red Bank High School in Chattanooga. Loyd was a longtime member of White Oak Baptist Church and retired from DuPont after 45 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Emma Sanders and 10 siblings.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Nell Sanders; two sons, Jim (Vounett) Sanders and Rick (Tiffany) Sanders; granddaughter, Abby Sanders Hatmaker and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 25, at White Oak Baptist Church, 310 Memorial Drive, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:30 p.m. with Walter Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga Memorial Park.
