Hubert Charles Oliver, 91, a devoted child of God, peacefully transitioned to Heaven on Friday, August 1, 2025, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.

A graduate of Ooltewah High School and a proud U.S. army veteran, Hubert retired from Combustion Engineering. He was a long-time and faithful member of Bayside Baptist Church, where he found joy in serving others and living out his faith.

He was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Amanda Wade; his parents, Chestine and Edna Oliver; his sister, Glenda Keene; and brothers, Bob and Donnie Oliver.

Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Oliver; three sons, Brad (Loretta), Randy (Cindy) and Doug (Jackie); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Boss of Salisbury, NC, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom he loved deeply and treated as his own.

Hubert was known for his generous spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. His quiet strength, humility and devotion to family and faith left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Special thanks to our wonderful family members who lovingly cared for us during this time, along with Hearth Hospice for their compassionate care over the past year and a half. Special thanks to our Bayside Baptist Church family for their ongoing support.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Turner Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with Pastor Grady Cooper officiating.

Hubert will be laid to rest in Harrison Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bayside Baptist Church Food Pantry Ministry.
