Linda Sue Bramblett Chastain, 76, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Murray Woods Assisted Living.
Linda was born on April 7, 1949, in Murray County, Ga., a daughter of the late Floyd Samuel and Ruth Elizabeth Posey Bramblett.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Darnell “Frank” Chastain, a great-granddaughter, LilyAnna Brinson, brothers, Luther and Shirley Bramblett, Douglas and Lavelle Bramblett, Lamar Bramblett, and Duke Bramblett, sisters, Edith and Walter “Junior” Chapman, Erma and Donald Hall, Barbara and Sandy Bramblett, Edna and Junior Collins, brother-in-law, Herman Shugart.
She is survived by her son, Billy Lynn and Wendy Lynn Locke of Villa Rica, GA; daughters, Melba and Junior Smith of Ellijay, GA, Joan and Ted Davis of Rockmart, GA; grandchildren, Jessica and John Morrow, Hannah and Andrew Schwartz, Joseph Bryan Mitchell, Michael Andrew and Bethany Mitchell, Gary Lynn Locke, Matthew Joe Locke; great-grandchildren, Benjamin James Morrow, Caleb Kennedy Morrow, Joseph Baker, Paisley Brinson, Oliver Brinson, Addison Morrow, Theodore Schwartz, Ansley Mitchell, and Abigail Mitchell; sister, Evelene Shugart; sister-in-law, Wilma Bramblett both of Resaca, GA; special friend, Stoney Ponders of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Chastain will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9, at 1 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Denny Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest with her beloved Frank at Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County, Ga.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 11 a.m. on Saturday, until the service hour.
