The Lee University Board of Directors announced the appointment of Vanessa Hammond to become vice president for University Relations. The new role for Ms. Hammond was the first administrative change recommended to the Board by incoming president Dr. Phil Cook. “Vanessa Hammond exemplifies the best of Lee University,” said Dr. Cook. “Her outstanding work, strategic thinking, long-term dedication, and love of Lee University make her the ideal vice president for University Relations. Tennessee football will open the season ranked No. 18 in the US LBM Preseason Coaches poll that was released Monday. The Volunteers are one of nine SEC teams ranked, and they will face three opponents in the preseason edition of the poll – No. 4 Georgia, No. 8 Alabama and No. 17 Florida. Syracuse, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Vanderbilt are also receiving votes. Tennessee is ranked in the Coaches poll for the 48th consecutive week dating back to Sept. 11, 2022.
