I recently stopped by the Honey-Baked Ham store at 2020 Gunbarrel Road one day during lunch to see if they might have a good salad. The answer is no.

The menu here consists basically of sandwiches. They do have other items pre-packaged in the freezer if you want to take them back to the microwave – or home for dinner.

I decided to make my own salad. I purchased a very small scoop each of Chicken Salad and Ham Salad and took it back to my office where I had a bag of baby lettuces in the fridge.

I thought both were pretty good, but unusual for me, I preferred the Ham Salad. It was more flavorful and not as "mayonnaisy" as the chicken, which has always been my favorite.

If I wanted a sandwich, I would probably stop by here because they make the sandwiches as you order them and the ones I saw appeared to be generous sized servings.

But - they do need to add a salad. Since they have different meats for sandwiches, they could come up with a good Chef Salad or a garden salad topped with the Chicken or Ham Salad.

The Honey-Baked Ham store has a few tables and you could have a nice, quiet, calming lunch to prepare for your hectic afternoon.
