Mildred "Millie" Louise Boring Singer, died on October 8, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was

Millie was born on Jan. 29, 1939, in Chattanooga, to the late Claude and Lillian Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Singer, her brother, Martin Smith and her grandson, Stephen Horton.

She is survived by her children, Kris Cody and Shannon Hixson of Chattanooga, Alison Dominguez of Snellville, Ga., and Jonathan Boring (Connie) of Marietta, Ga. Millie was a cherished grandmother, G’ma and GG to Elizabeth Kane (Andrew), Kimberly Penney (Brian), Rachel Dominguez, Jessica Downey (Kyle), Anne- Marie Boring, Garrett Cody, Austin Dominguez, Sarah Boring, and great-grandchildren, Katlyn Hyde, Evan Hixson and Brantley Cody.

Millie’s life was a journey with many chapters; she was a colorful, loving mother, friend and grandmother. She cared deeply for her family and friends.

Millie had a lifelong love of crafts and got so much pleasure from sharing her handmade gifts with everyone.  She had a very generous nature.  Millie was very quick-witted and never lost her keen sense of humor.

In her early years she raised a family while also hosting a local Chattanooga television show, “Focus”, and several radio shows as well as voiceover commercial work. She was a natural talent that was right at home in front of the microphone or the camera.

Millie was a truly unique woman who was an inspiration to her family, friends and final caregivers in her life and in her relentless battle against a cruel disease.

Our family is grateful for the prayers, the love, the support and the help that we received throughout her treatment and her many recoveries.  We send our thanks to the doctors, nurses, technicians and all other caregivers who took care of her over this past year.  You’ve been a source of great comfort to us all.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, at the North Chapel - Chattanooga Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel - Chattanooga Funeral Home .

Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
