Civil War Music Historian Gives Free Concert Friday

Part Of 2013 Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Signiture Event

Bobby Horton, Civil War music historian and performer, will present a concert of mid-19th century music on Friday from 7–8:45 p.m. at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The concert will explore the music of both North and South and tell the stories of the American Civil War.  

Mr. Horton is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading authorities on music from the Civil War period.

The event is free to the public and is jointly sponsored by The Friends of Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park and the Tennessee Civil War National Heritage Area. 

The Tennessee Sesquicentennial Commission sponsors a series of major signature events. Presenters will discuss the battles, events, and stories of the Civil War, as well as offer brief dramas and musical entertainment during the free event, Wednesday-Saturday in Chattanooga and Nov. 13-14, in Franklin, Tenn.

Tennessee’s Sesquicentennial Signature Events will take place through 2015. For more information, visit www.tncivilwar150.com
