President Obama is planning a visit to Nashville on Thursday to discuss jobs.
House Democratic Caucus Chairman Mike Turner responded on the announcement from the White House that the president will discuss expanding economic opportunity:
“We are excited and proud to learn today that President Obama has chosen Nashville to deliver an address on how we can do more to provide opportunities to all Americans and strengthen the middle class.
“Under President Obama’s leadership, a great deal of the economy has recovered from the Bush recession, but too many Americans are still forced to work two or three jobs just to make ends meet.
“We need to do more as a country to expand economic opportunity and build our economy from the middle-out.
We look forward to hearing the President’s goals and vision to grow the economy in a way that rewards hard work and allows everyone to live the American dream.”
