Violet Cordelia Blevins Wooten, 77, of Rising Fawn, Georgia, died on Friday September 5, 2014 at her residence.
A native of Orm, Tn., she had lived in the North Georgia Chattanooga area for most of her life. She was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Church of Latter Day Saints and was a sitter for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wooten; parents, William “W.R.” and Violet Bradford Blevins; two sons, Byron Lingerfelt and Victor Jennings; sisters, Aileen Wooten, Mary Ester Smith and Edna Blevins and two brothers, G.W. Blevins and Hayes Blevins.
She is survived by two sons, Monty (Jennifer) Lingerfelt of Elizabeth Town, Ky., and Michael Lingerfelt of Lookout Mountain; four sisters, Emma Jean Griffith of Harrison, Tn., Elanor Thompson of Collegedale, Brenda Davis of Madison, Al., and Scarlett Whittaker of Sand Mountain; two brothers, Lewis Blevins of Red Bank, and Darrell Blevins of Lookout Mountain; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, at the Chattanooga Valley Church of Latter Day Saints. Interment will follow at Ascalon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 7, from 2-9 p.m., and Monday, until 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
