Virginia Jo Galloway Hitchcock, 75, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, October 9, 2015 in a local hospital.

She was a 1958 Howard High School graduate and received her master’s degree from UTC.  She was a retired school teacher from the Chattanooga Public School System and was a member of Community Fellowship. 

Survivors include her husband, Albert Hitchcock, Jr.; sons, George Jackson of Detroit, MI, Vincent (Dimeta), Gregory, Eric (Rosland), Troy, and Kenneth Galloway, all of Chattanooga; daughter, Karen Galloway of Atlanta, GA; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Joe) Dean of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

Visitation is on Friday, Oct. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be on Saturday, Oct. 17, at noon in the chapel with Bishop Stephen Thomas as the eulogist. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
