Naomi “Kay” Green, 66, of Cleveland, Tennessee, died Monday, April 25, 2016 at her home.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend George Andrews Owens; sister, Cecila Murray; paternal grandparents, Luther and Cora Owens; and maternal grandparents, Julius and Ethel Rymer.
Mrs. Green enjoyed traveling, working in her flower garden, sewing, cooking and was employed for 26 years, the time it opened, at Dr. Scholls. However, most importantly, she will be remembered as a devoted wife and loving mother.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Ron Green; her daughter, Tonya Green; grandson, Riley Cheek; step-grandson, Nathaniel Malone; step-granddaughter, Ashley Cheek Samples, all of Cleveland; her mother, Luwana Rymer Owens of Benton; sister, Becky Calhoun and her husband Terry of Benton; brothers, Gilbert Owens and his wife Brenda of Chattanooga and Johnny Owens and his wife Pat of Cleveland; special friends, Carolyn Stokes, Barbara Goodner and Jimmy Swafford; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be held Thursday, April 28, at 1 p.m. from Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Pastor Gary Sears officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Polk County with Heath Owens, Whitney Owens, Casey Calhoun, Casey Stokes, Gabe West and Jimmy Swafford serving as casket bearers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family would like to share a special thank you to Dr. Anz and staff at the Tennessee Oncology for the care and attention given to Mrs. Green.
