Deonna Junell Patterson, 20, of Chattanooga, transitioned to heaven on January 3, 2018, at a local hospital.

She was born on Oct. 9, 1997. She attended Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS), and graduated from Central High School, Class of 2016. She was presently a student at Chattanooga State Community College. Deonna was a loving, caring person who really enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing Christ with others. She possessed a strong work ethic, and a willingness to persevere in achieving her dreams. She was a member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle.

She was preceded in death by James Culberson, Percell Harris, Thomas Patterson, and Walter Thomas, Jr.

She is survived by her parents, Derrick and Janetta (Culberson) Patterson; and sister, Alyssa Erin Patterson; grandparents, Andra Culberson, Annaphine Patterson, and Charles Patterson Sr.; aunts, Avonne P. White, Sandra Brown, Belinda Hatcher, Dorothea C. Thomas, Kimberly Ann Culberson, Tammy Patterson, and Kalydra Willis of Huntsville, TN; uncles, Charles Patterson Jr., James “Jimmy” Hatcher, Walter Thomas Sr., and Eric Willis; great aunts, Orlinda Gray of Knoxville, Hilda H. Hardaway, and Alester Harris of Huntsville, Tn.; great uncle, Javan Harris; and a host of other family, cousins, special friends, and loved ones. 

Visitation is from Wednesday, Jan. 10, from 5-7 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

The funeral service will be on Thursday, Jan. 11, at noon in the chapel with Dr. Marshall Robinson officiating and Pastor Jeffery Carter as the eulogist.  

Entombment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
