Ethan Hall
Hamilton County Sheriff deputies caught up with a Dayton teen who drove off at a high rate of speed on Highway 60 on Sunday afternoon. A passenger in the vehicle was caught with drugs.
At approximately 5 p.m., deputies observed a white Chrysler 200 traveling south in the 7800 block of Highway 60 at a high rate of speed.
The driver was improperly passing other vehicles by crossing the double yellow lines and placing other citizens in great danger, authorities said.
Deputies initiated a pursuit of a vehicle, but the driver, 19-year-old Ethan Hall, of 2130 Black Oak Ridge Road, Dayton, Tn., tried to evade deputies. Deputies were finally able to conduct a felony stop of the vehicle in the 5300 block of Highway 60. Hall was taken into custody and told deputies he tried to evade the traffic stop because his license was suspended, which was confirmed.
Hall was cited for speeding, improperly passing and failure to provide financial responsibility. He was also charged with reckless driving for the additional vehicles that were passed and the excessive speed.
During a search of Hall’s vehicle, a passenger, James Michael Thompson, 25, of 115 Landmark Court, Dayton, was placed into custody for possession of drugs. Thompson was booked with possession of Methamphetamine for resale, possession of Xanax for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were transported to the Hamilton County Jail without incident.
