James Wallace Arnold, age 85, of the Dawnville community in Whitfield County, Georgia, departed this life, Sunday, October 20, 2019.
He was born Aug. 3, 1934 in Dalton, Ga., a son of the late William Bill and Emma Arnold. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Louise Arnold; and sister, Doris Carter.
He was a bus driver and custodian at Dawnville Elementary School for 40 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Louise Arnold of the residence; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Angela Arnold of Chatsworth, Ga., Gene and Tina Arnold of Dalton, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Dee and Mitch McMahan of Tunnel Hill, Ga., Martha and Lennis Warnix of Dalton, Ga.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Arnold, Doyle and Reba Arnold of Chatsworth, Ga.; sisters, Louise Moore of Chatsworth, Ga., Lorene Kinnamon of Dalton, Ga.; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate the life of James Wallace Arnold will be held Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 2 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Lamar Beason officiating. Interment will follow in the Dawnville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m.
