Eugene "Gene" Michael Longobardi Jr., 63, of Hixson went home to be with his Lord on Monday, October 21, 2019 surrounded by his family.

Gene was a native of New Haven, Conn., and lived in Chattanooga for many years.

He was a software engineer for various technical firms including TVA over the past years and was an active member of The Ministry Center.

Gene was a paratrooper serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lavonne Longobardi; and his brother, David Longobardi.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Shepherd Longobardi; two sons, Eugene Michael (Casey) Longobardi III, Augusta, Ga. and Nicholas Longobardi, Chattanooga; step-son, Brandon Chatfield, Gillette, WY; two step-daughters, Katrina (Eric) Jenkins, Soddy, Tn., and Aimee (Ryan) Chang, Nashville, Tn.; sister, Angela (Steve) Beiderbecke, Lakewood, Co.; seven grandchildren, Carter & Eli Longobardi, Isabella, Amelia, and Sophia Jenkins, Lilly and Jameson Chang.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 23, at 7 p.m. at  The Ministry Center, 2929 Hamill Road, Hixson, Tn., with Pastor Jimmie Talley and Pastor Jim Milligan officiating.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 23, from 5-7 p.m. at The Ministry Center, 2929 Hamill Road.
