Lookout Valley Honors Nation's Heroes - Then And Now

  • Sunday, November 10, 2019

The Lookout Valley Neighborhood Association is honoring veterans by lining Browns Ferry Road with over 400 ovals and crosses.

Association member retired Army LTC Ray Atkins said the symbols go up one week before Veterans Day and remain up for two weeks.  LTC Atkins said the oval represents a living veteran from Lookout Valley and the cross represents a deceased Veteran.

This is the third year the neighborhood association has presented their “Salute to U.S.

Armed Forces” by placing the symbols along Browns Ferry Road.

Earl Freudenberg, who was a broadcaster on the Armed Forces Network, was the guest speaker for the Lookout Valley Neighborhood Association Veterans Day program.
