June 6 Trial Date Set For Soddy Daisy Man Charged With Killing His Wife In Front Of Their Child

A Soddy Daisy man, who allegedly killed his wife in front of their child, had his trial date set in Judge Tom Greenholtz’s courtroom on Wednesday. Brandon Hendricks, 38, will go before a jury in June on a charge of criminal homicide.

With Soddy Daisy community members donning purple shirts in the audience, Judge Greenholtz and the two attorneys set several crucial dates. The trial itself was set for June 6. A motion date was set for April 22, which will be the next time Hendricks will be in court.

April 17 is the deadline for any motions to filed. If either side wishes to work out a plea agreement, they will have to do so by May 29.

Police said in July 2018, Hendricks got into an argument with his wife while the family was in the car en route to a birthday party for their son, who was sitting in the back seat.

When the victim, Joanie Hendricks, told her husband to get out of the car, he pulled out a gun and fired several shots at her, it was stated.

Police said after the shooting at his wife, Hendricks called police and confessed to the act. Ms. Hendricks was pronounced dead on the scene when law enforcement and medical personnel arrived.
