Jimmie Bins
Jimmie Bins, 88, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in a local health care facility.
He was born May 8, 1932, in Epes, Al. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of New Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church for 61 years. He served on the Usher Board and also greeted members and guests at every Sunday service. Jimmie retired from Wheland Foundry after 44 years of service. He was also employed at National Linen Service for 35 years of service. He was devoted in serving his Heavenly Father and taking care of his children with love and passion.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Brown; mother, Mattie Bins; sisters, Jessie Muse and Mary Sales; brother, and grandson, Bins.
Survivors include his children, Jimmette Darlene Bins Bray, David (Carolyn) Bins, Sr., both of Chattanooga, and Willetha (Michael) Harris of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Terrance Jr., David Jr., Lashell, Rachel, Michael II, and Makayla; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Dorothy) Benn of Los Angeles, CA and Anderson Benn of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Dorothy Bins of Chattanooga; a host of nephews; nieces; cousins; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 5-6 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 1:30 p.m. at New Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Kenneth L. Simpson as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
