Motorcyclist Seriously Injured As County School Bus Fails To Yield

A motorcyclist was seriously injured on Thursday afternoon in a collision with a Hamilton County school bus.

Police said the driver of bus number 389 was cited for failing to yield to the motorcyclist and failing to exercise due care.

The bus was going north on S. Hawthorne Street on its way to pick up students. No students were on the bus at the time.

The motorcyclist was going west on Bailey Avenue. The bus began crossing Bailey Avenue as the motorcycle was also proceeding. The motorcycle wound up going under the bus.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
