Hammers, Ben, Jr. (Dunlap)

Ben Hammers, Jr., 58, of Dunlap, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at his residence. He attended Highway 28 Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Hammers, Sr. and brother, Joe Ray Hammers.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria Cribbs Hammers; mother, Seretha Cagle Hammers; brother, Charles Hammers; sisters, Janie (David) Lofty, Betty (George) Lofty and Shirley Hammers (partner James Lockhart); nieces, Amy Hammers and Samantha Lockhart; nephew, Jesse Hammers; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. CST on Monday, June 10 in Ewton Funeral Home Chapel. No visitation will be held before the service.

Hamilton County Has Record 71 In Hospital With Coronavirus; Tennessee Has 25 More Deaths

The number of coronavirus patients in Chattanooga hospitals has risen to the highest level yet - 71. That includes 37 from Hamilton County. The previous high was 65 on June 10.
