Carole Yvonne Maffett, 77, of Chattanooga, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in a local hospital.  

She was a graduate of Howard High School and received an Associate Degree from Chattanooga State Technical College.  Carole was a member of Shepherd Church of Christ and later chose to worship at the East Third Street Church of Christ.  She retired from Memorial Hospital in 2006.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Ella Mae Hardaway, Sr.; brothers, Willie Hardaway, Jr. and Dennis Hardaway; uncles, Ray Hardaway, Ralph Means, and Woodrow Means; aunts, Jewel Choice, Clara McKinley, Bernice Pendergrass, and Roberta Porter.  

Survivors include her husband, Stanley C. Maffett; daughter, Sandra Moore; sons, Curtis (Teyah) Jones, Jr. of Laurinburg, NC, Greg Jones, and Terry Jones, Sr. of Detroit, MI; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandson; sister, Maxine Watkins; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

Carole will lie in state on Saturday, Sept. 28, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.  

Funeral services will be on Sunday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. in the chapel Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist. Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
