Ruth Annette Rader, age 98, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, September 19, 2019 at a local hospital.

She was born Oct. 3, 1920 in Johnstown, Pa., a daughter of the late Daniel and Mabel Haagen Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Major Leroy Rader; brothers, Daniel Cole and William Cole; and sister, Mary Fyock.

Ruth graduated from Johnstown High School and received a nursing degree in 1943.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, James Rader of Dalton, Ga., Robert and Nancy Rader of Tallassee, Al.; grandchildren, Beth Rader Michaels, Amy Rader, Richard P. Rader, Laura Suzanne Roberson and Patrick Whitlock; great-grandchildren, Adelyn Michaels, Sydney Michaels, Caroline Roberson and Aile Roberson; and several nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate the life of Ruth Annette Rader will be held Sunday, Sept. 22, at 4 p.m. in the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Bishop Reuben Graham officiating. Interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22.
