CCS Rallies To Beat Notre Dame 43-39

The CCS football team rallied for 15 points in the final two minutes of their 43-39 win over region rival Notre Dame Friday night. 

Notre Dame led 22-21 at the half and led 39-28 after a 18 yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. 

CCS's Tink Scott scrambled for a 63 yard touchdown run with 1:27 left in the game and a two point conversion by quarterback Sam Hall to Scott cut the lead to just three, 39-36. 

Senior kicker Chris Bagby executed a perfect onside kick to save the game and the Chargers recovered with 1:20 left in the game.   CCS capitalized on the great field position and Sam Hall capped off the short drive with a 1 yard run with 4 seconds left in the game for the win.  

Notre Dame's air attack produced 354 yards by quarterback Bennett Brinson.  He completed 19 of 27 passes and scored three touchdowns.   

Notre Dame's George Fillauer rushed nine times for 93 yards and one touchdown. 

The Chargers were led by Jamicheal Baxter who rushed for 233 yards on 18 carries. 

Tink Scott had 116 yards on 16 rushes.   

Notre Dame eclipsed 468 total offensive yards and CCS had 534.
