A 27-year-old man is in custody after he admitted to having sex with a 14-year-old in a high school parking lot.

A school resource officer at the Howard school noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at the back of the school property. Upon investigation, the officer met the driver, Rober Perez-Perez, 27. He also found a young female student in the back of the car.

Perez admitted to having engaged in a sexual act with the student. The mother of the child was alerted, and she said she wanted to prosecute Perez.

Because of the age difference and his self-admission of the crime, Perez was charged with aggravated statutory rape.
