Charles Edward “Bud” Townsend, 78, of LaFayette, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020.
He was a member of Community Baptist Church – Lee Mason Road.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Townsend and Lucille Brown Townsend; and sister, Barbara James.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris Townsend of LaFayette; daughter, Melinda (Brian) Hamby of LaFayette; son, Glenn Townsend of LaFayette; grandchildren, Brook (Tony) Wyatt, Brandon Mowry, Alan Mowry (Shadow Day); great grandchildren, Megan Mowry, Kaitlyn Mowry, Hunter Wyatt, Cannon Mowry, and Sawyer Mowry; sister, Linda (Gary) Brookes and Judy (Jim) Walker all of LaFayette; brother, Dusty (Pam) Townsend of LaFayette and Anthony (Jill) Townsend of Soddy Daisy; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Community Baptist Church with Pastors Rodney Blaylock and Melvin Frazier officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tony Townsend, Justin Thompson, Rick Cameron, Tony Wyatt, Brandon Mowry, and Alan Mowry.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
