Scam Alert: Agency Asking For Donations For MaryEllen Locher Breast Center

CHI Memorial wants to make the public aware of a scam involving the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center. Area residents have reported receiving phone calls asking for donations to the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center. The CHI Memorial Foundation and the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center do not make solicitation telephone calls.

The caller says he/she is representing the Cancer Council.  CHI Memorial Foundation and the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center are not affiliated with this group.

“Many people throughout the Tennessee Valley have a personal connection with the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Center.
We don’t want anyone who knows about the great work done here to be misled by organizations claiming to raise funds for us,” says Jennifer Nicely, president, CHI Memorial Foundation. “If you are interested in making a donation to the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center, please contact the CHI Memorial Foundation office to find out how to give.”

If you receive a phone call soliciting funds for the MaryEllen Locher Breast Center, contact the Better Business Bureau serving Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia at 423-266-6144.
