David Brooks
David M. Brooks, 73, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020.
David was a member and elder of Brainerd Presbyterian Church for 40 plus years. He graduated from City High School in 1964, and the University of Chattanooga in 1969. He worked for TVA as an engineer until his retirement in 2002. He was an avid golfer and played on the TVA golf league at Brown Acres. He was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, and friend. He was affectionately known to his family as “611”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mazie Brooks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Marie Brooks; daughters, Leslie (Mike) Standish, Karen (Jeff) Bridgman; brother, William Albert Brooks Jr.; and grandchildren, Chelsea (Drake) Farmer, Addie Standish, Sophia Standish, Carter Bridgman, Callen Bridgman, and Lucy Bridgman.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27, at Brainerd Presbyterian Reverend Dane Deatherage officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
