Evon Basily Riad, age 87, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Friday, June 26, 2020 at the family residence.

Mrs. Riad was born in Egypt and was preceded in death by her husband, Max L. Riad, her parents and a number of siblings. Mrs. Riad taught elementary school in Egypt and after coming to Cleveland, she worked in housekeeping for Lee University and for the Church of God International Offices before her retirement. She loved to cook and was known for her sense of humor. Most of all, she loved to read her bible and along with her husband, they would read the bible through twice a year! Mrs. Riad was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Julie Burkhart and husband Marty of Ooltewah; son, John Riad of Cleveland; granddaughter, Krista Riad, also of Cleveland; twin sister, Nancy David of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be held private for the family. Interment will be in the Lee Cemetery in McDonald.

The Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
