Eula Dean Dillard Sims, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020, in a local hospital.  

She was educated in the Jackson County, Alabama school system, was a UTC graduate, retired from the City of Chattanooga after 40 years.  Eula was a member of East Third Street Church of Christ where she served on the benevolence committee and the Ladies Bible Study Class.  

She was preceded in death her husband, Duke Sims, Jr.; son, Douglas Sims; parents, Dennis and Elizabeth Dillard; sister, Carrie Isbell; brother, Charlie Smith; and son-in-law, Espisito McClarty.  

Survivors include her son, Duke (Ms. Vincent Preston) Sims; daughter, Sharron Sims McClarty; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, all of Chattanooga; and a host of other relatives and friends.   

Eula will lie in state on Monday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at 2 p.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery with Brother John R. Taylor, Sr. as the eulogist.
