Paul Edward Goins
Paul Edward Goins, age 70, a life-long resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 while mowing the Veterans section at the Fort Hill Cemetery.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Lee and Rachel Hinkle Goins.
Edward was a very important and generous member of our community. Along with his brother Robert, they have volunteered for over 22 years maintaining the Veterans section of Fort Hill Cemetery, where their father is laid to rest. Edward not only cut the grass but he would help set the veterans headstones on the grave. He was a simple man, but because of his big heart and dedication to his volunteer work our community has a place of dignity where our veterans and heroes can be laid to rest with honor.
Edward greeted everyone with a smile, he had a big heart and never hurt a soul. He was loved by everyone that knew him, especially his brother Robert, who said, “He was the best brother a man could have.” Our community will truly miss Paul Edward Goins.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Goins; sisters, Barbara Murchison and her husband Kim, Sandra Seagraves and her husband Jeff; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be celebrated Monday, July 13, at 2 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Tom Wickes officiating. The interment will follow at Mt. Olive Church of God Cemetery with Bill Norwood, John Thompson, Jeff Seagraves, Kim Muchison, Anthony Arthur and Rodney Thompson serving as casket bearers.
